Using a Lockbox with a Medical Alert System

When setting up a medical alert system for an elderly person, don't forget to buy a lockbox for the front door, similiar to that used by realtors. A lockbox is a small, secure box attached to the front doorknob that contains a key to the house, and is opened by a combination lock.

In this way, emergency personnel, a neighbor or trusted friend can get in the house quickly should the medical alert response team determine that paramedic help will need to be dispatched to the home.
